PREDICT (Promoting Realistic and Engaging Discussions in Curriculum Teamsis a JISC-funded project supported by the Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design programme. The project is led by City University London.

OUR PROJECT

The project focus is to develop a new curriculum design process that is efficient, flexible, focuses on enhancing educational development and the student experience and, is supported with responsive technology to accommodate our curriculum models. It is essential that the design process takes account of our diverse stakeholders – whether learners, staff or employers.

DISSEMINATION

More information can be found on our Project website and we have blogged a number of posts in our Educational Vignettes Blog under the category of 'PREDICT'. Furthermore, documentation for the project are available; this area contains a range of documents for our project. This includes the original project plan and revised version, the baseline report and a range of interim reports for the project.

Case Studies

As part of the JISC funded PREDICT, we asked City University London academics and educational technologists about their use of Moodle, which is at the centre point of our Strategic Learning Environment (SLE). Here are some of their views from across the institute and disciplines.

A. Academics speak about use of Moodle in Curriculum Design

Below is one of the academic interviews, where Professor Alice Bloch (Professor of Sociology, School of Social Sciences, City University London), explains how she has been using the Moodle technology as part of her curriculum design.

Conferences & Publications

The project to date has disseminated information at conferences both about this project and other institutional projects that compliment this and then also as part of the cluster group working together. Outlined here are the conferences to date that have been undertaken.

Evaluation

As part of our evaluation activities for our interim report two years into the project and also to ensure that evaluation was a common theme we ran an evaluation workshop  with our Project Board. We asked the board members and number of questions and recorded their responses which can be viewed here.

and finally...our cluster

We are working in a cluster with 4 other projects involved in the Curriculum Design programme. The focus of these projects is on process and quality improvements for more flexible/responsive curriculum design:
Birmingham City University - T-SPARC project
Cardiff University - PALET project
University of Cambridge - Course Tools project
University of Greenwich - UG-Flex project
