St Georges University of London
St George's University of London has replaced the delivery of its undergraduate Problem Based Learning (PBL) from paper to online Virtual Patients (VPs) with options and consequences in its Medicine course. Cases were developed from existing paper case to fit the VP model using VP authoring tools. Students were provided with a wiki to take notes during their sessions. The image below shows students during a PBL session using the interactive online VPs:
Examples of a VP case and a groups wiki are shown below :
The last case of the year was delivered using the virtual word Second Life , scenarios were created to replicate a GP surgery and a hospital ward.
