Dynamic Learning Maps Project  - Curriculum Maps for the Web Generation

For the Learner

  • Visualise and navigate my curriculum; see the big picture
  • Add personal extensions and make connections
  • Attach notes and reflections in the context of my curriculum and learning
  • Add, share and rate learning resources
  • Look back; revision aid!
  • Look forward; use maps to inform module selection and career aims

For the teacher

  • Use as a visual aid to provide an overview of my module
  • See where my teaching fits in with the wider curriculum
  • See what students have already been taught in this area
  • Better contextulise teaching and compliment teaching in other modules
  • Gain a better idea of external resources students use to supplement learning; recommend some

For the curriculum manager and auditers

  • Design maps and decide what to map (outcomes, modules, teaching sessions, themes etc)
  • Visualise and navigate your curriculum; see the big picture!
  • Where is topic x taught in the curriculum?
  • Signpost connections including pre-requisites and co-requisites
  • Help identify ‘gaps’ and areas of potential duplication
